Dr. Raymond Browning
– Exercise Science Adviser
Dr. Raymond Browning received his Ph.D. in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO in 2005. Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the department of Health and Exercise Science, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO and the director of the Physical Activity Energetics/Mechanics laboratory. His research is focused on the role of physical activity in the prevention and treatment of childhood and adult obesity. He combines biomechanics, physiology and engineering principles in his research. Applications include the development of physical activity guidelines for prevention/treatment of chronic diseases associated with inactivity; methods and devices for monitoring of physical activity and energy expenditure; and development of activity-promoting workplace and educational environments.
His work has been supported by national (National Institutes of Health) and state agencies, and private industry.
